The scene opens up inside of the New York Police Department. Jackson Price is sitting at his desk with his feet propped up reading from a file. His new partner Chris Tyler was sitting across from him.
“I'm glad we can finally close this case and give the family some closure.”
He says without looking up from the file. He'd filled out all the reports and it was ready to be handed into his superior, but Jackson wanted to have one last look to insure that they hadn't missed anything. Everything looked in order. Their team – although it was a new one – worked well together.
“Tyler. Price.”
Both men looked up as their Captain walked in.
“Finished with that paperwork yet?”
“Just finished, Cap.”
“Good, I've got another case for you. I'm assigning you the Jade West case.”
“Jade West, sir?”
Jackson racked his brain, trying to figure out if he should know that name. If he should be familiar with that case. Nothing jumped out at him.
“Missing person. None of the other detectives that we've put on the case have been able to get anywhere and the daughter wants answers. Let's try to get them for her.”
He tosses the folder down and walks off. Jackson immediately picks up the file, and glances at it. The other teams must have not even tried because there was minimal information inside.
“It says that she was believed to have just left town. But she hasn't made contact with her daughter and none of her credit cards have been used since the morning of her supposed disappearance.”
If she didn't want to be found, she would have ditched the cards. Maybe gotten herself a new identity, but the fact that she hadn't contacted her daughter was strange to Jackson. He hands the file to Chris for him to look at.
“What do you think?”

Chris raised up in his seat and rested his head on his hand.
"I think that sleep is over rated."
he said with a slight smirk.
"I think we can handle it though. I just hope we find her alive. It already sounds suspicious to me."
He starts to get up from his desk, grabbing his jacket and usual baseball cap.
"You ready to go partner? We can swing by and get Barry to go with us."

Jackson stands up and grabs his jacket as well.
“I was thinking we should check out the last place she was suppose to be. Ask a few questions, see if we can get any leads. The paperwork says that she was scheduled for an event at the Barclays Center over in Brooklyn, but never showed. Maybe we can talk to a few of her coworkers.”
Barry was one of the resident forensic specialists. Jackson didn't expect there to be much for him to do at this stage – since they were only going to be interviewing people and she never made it to the event.
“We can always just call Barry if we find something.”

"Sounds like a plan"
Chris said as he waited for Jackson.
"I don't like dealing with missing people or murders, those cases haunt you long after; but we got this job to help people. So if we can, let's do it."
He grabbed his keys.
"You driving? Or you want me too?"

Jackson smiled at that question. Chris didn't know it yet, but Jackson could drive. He was one of the top drivers in his graduating class. High speed chases were one of his talents. But since they weren't in a rush, Jackson was going to let his partner handle this. He picked up the file off the desk and headed for the door.
“You drive. I want to look over this file a little more closely on the ride over.”

"Alright"
He said.
"Maybe you'll find something in there that everyone else missed. You want a coffee on the way?"

“We are for sure going to need some with this case.”
They head out to get some coffee and begin to head to the location where Jade West was last expected to be. During the drive, Jackson thought over their game plan. The more he thought about it, the more it didn't make sense to head directly to the arena.
“Okay, hear me out. This event was suppose to happen months ago right? What's the likely hood that anyone that Jade would have worked with would still be there? Time isn't going to stand still because one woman disappears. They would have gone on with their lives. I mean, maybe we could run into a security guard that was working on that day and maybe we could get our hands on the old security footage of the entrances to see if we can see any sign of her actually arriving. Both good things that we should check out to cover our bases, but as for actual witnesses or people we can interview, I'm not seeing them still being there. Now the folder indicates that there is a gym right down the road that Jade and some other wrestlers went to frequently while they were in town for an event. I'm thinking that's our best bet for actual leads.”

"Your probably right."
Chris says taking a drink from his coffee.
"Her information has to be logged into the computer. They may have footage on their cameras and I'm sure there is people who have saw her. Not to mention she may left some clothing or something there as well."

“Right”
Jackson nods in agreement.
“The other detectives probably didn't even consider checking this place out. There is no telling what Jade could have left there the last time she trained there. It could hold the key to the entire investigation for all we know.”
The pieces were all getting into place. At least mentally they were. Going to the gym and actually finding some evidence would really put them in the right direction to finding something that could help them solve Jade's disappearance.

Chris nodded and made a turn towards the gym.
"Alright once we get here, I'll check around the locker room if you want to ask the questions. I'm better at finding things then talking to people, but I can do either."
It isn't long until they arrive at the gym.
"So I guess we're here, we may need to take a notepad and some gloves."

Jackson opens the glove compartment and pulls out a notepad and a pen.
“Got your back, partner. I'm always prepared.”
He gets out of his side of the car and they both start to head into the gym. Jackson immediately spots a couple of females working out when they get inside. He restates the plan that Chris had mentioned earlier.
“You head to the locker room. I'll just be my charming self and see if I can get anything out of the locals.”
Jackson adjusts his tie and they begin to head in their own directions. He stops beside a young woman on the treadmill.
“Excuse me, Miss?”

He pulls out his badge and shows it to her.
“Would you know a woman by the name of Jade West by any chance?”

Jackson is writing everything down that Cruella is telling him in the notepad he brought with him. Some of it doesn't seem all that important, but at this point, there is no telling what could be useful in their investigation. Even the smallest detail might be what breaks the case. He didn't want for one of these people to tell him something that he considered to be insignificant at the time only for it to be the game changer that he and Chris needed.
After writing everything down, he looked up at Cruella.
“Thank you, Miss Perry. Hopefully this information will lead us to your missing friend.”
Jackson reaches into his pocket and pulls out a business card.
“I'd like to leave my card with you. It has my name and my office number. If you can think of anything else after I leave, please give this number a call.”
Jackson nods at her before moving farther into the gym, hoping to come across someone else that might have information on Jade West.

“Thank you, Miss. That would be very helpful.”
He smiles at her before looking down at some of the questions that he had on his notepad.
“On the day, Ms. West disappeared, had you seen her? We have been told that she never made it to the gym that day, but I'm hoping that perhaps someone here saw her. Interacted with her, even in the smallest way.”

“My partner is actually working on that. But the footage has already been looked at by the previous detectives and nothing seemed out of the ordinary on the day of question. Jade West was also not on any of the footage, but my partner and I will definitely be looking over it in case there was a mistake.”
He had already spoken with the Perry sisters, but he didn't feel it necessary to mention that to this woman.
“To your knowledge, did Jade have any enemies? I'm sure in her line of work there was probably a competitive aspect of the job, but can you think of anyone that would seriously want to hurt her or cause her to disappear?”
