“Well were they even aware that you knew her?”
Ashley starts walking over to the kids. They were still in the distance a ways, but they had been here for awhile and needed to head home soon.
“It wasn't like you interacted with her very much. I barely interacted with her. Mostly it was when Savanna was running her mouth that we talked on twitter but other than that, we didn't talk either.”

"They knew we were former co workers but since we never really spoke and werent close they let me in on the case."
Chris got up and walked with her.
"I'd hate to think there was some crazy person on the loose, that's one of the reasons we have worked so many hours. Want to get this person off of the streets as soon as possible."

Ashley almost snorts
“This is New York, Chris. There is a crazy person loose on just about every single street corner.”

"Your right."
He smiled.
"But we do whatever we can to keep our kids safe, that's why I want you to have a gun at home just in case."

“And I understand that your reasoning for that. Even though you have thoroughly trained me in how to use a gun in case we need to, I'm just a little afraid to have one in the house with the kids still being so small. They understand that it's not a toy, but they are little. If they were to somehow get their hands on it, something could happen to them and that terrifies me.”
Ashley looks at him. They had a gun in the house inside of a locked safe, instead of another locked safe to protect their children, but Ashley didn't like to think about it being there or the kids knowing it was there.
“As long as whoever tries to break into our home doesn't have a gun, I'm pretty sure I could stop them. After all, what other reason have I been taking every single self-defense class I hear about for?”
Besides her just enjoying them and enjoying helping others make sure they feel safe. Most of the classes she could teach ten times better than the instructors at this rate, but there was still occasionally one that would come up who'd show her something new.

"That's true."
he said.
"I think we've done a great job making sure our kids are safe and taken care of, I'm proud of the life we've made. We both can hold our own in a fight, and we have the gun just incase..and an alarm system..so we're all good."
he smiled as he watched them play in the distance.
"And my brother is coming to New York soon, so we'll have that extra person to help keep them safe too."

“I don't know about that. Jamie is going to be pretty busy with his own kids, don't you think?”
She looks towards her kids and watches them play. Her brother-in-law and his wife had three kids already ranging from the ages of seven to three. Ashley could imagine just how busy the couple was going to be between getting moved in, the kids into a new school so late in the year, starting his work as a construction worker, and his wife starting in the NICU at the hospital. Life was going to be pretty chaotic for them for a little bit.

"Yeah it will be busy for them, your right on that. But it will be great having them here, another group of kids to play with ours and my brother in town to hang out with."
He laughed.
"Heck we may need to take their kids for a few hours when they get here so they have time to unpack, if you think we can handle that."

“Actually I've already agreed to take Lillian during the day. I'll be watching her while the other kids are in school.”
Lillian was Jamie's three year old daughter who wasn't in school yet.
“My schedule is flexible while theirs isn't. Cass is already worried that her schedule is going to be all kinds of crazy for the next few months while she adjusts to being in a new hospital. I'll probably help with the kids after school as well, but we haven't talked about that just yet.”

Chris nodded.
"Well it's good that we can help them out. My schedule gets crazy sometimes too so I hope your not overwhelming yourself, since I may have late nights and not be able to help you. But they are well behaved kids, Jamie wouldn't have it any other way."

“Turns out that I am pretty good at taking care of children. After nine years and all three of our kids are still miraculously alive.”
She laughs.
“I'll be fine, Chris. The kids love me and respect me. And yeah, it might take some time to get use to having all six of the kids together at once, but I've got this.”
She could probably even make a career of it.

He kissed her on the cheek and smiled.
"Alright, if you say you can handle it then I know you can. And the older kids can even help out, I'm sure the responsibility will make them feel grown up."
He watched the kids play for a little longer and then asked.
"So what would you like to do for dinner tonight?"

“Pizza”
Ashley makes a face causing Chris to laugh.
“The kids want us to pick up a couple of pizza's on the way home. Which should be in about...”
She looks at her phone
“15 more minutes”

He laughs knowing his wife hates pizza.
"I'm sure they would want that, but yeah it sounds good. Since I know you don't eat that what will you be having?"
He playfully nudged her excited to be taking his whole out to eat and just to have the time to hang out with all of them

Ashley shrugs
“Not sure yet. I'll find something I'm sure.”

"We can cruise around some until you come to somewhere that looks good."
he added as he motioned for the kids to come to them.
"Okay kids, I think it's time to go get that pizza"
They cheer excitedly as he stands up and helps Ashley up as well

They begin walking towards the pizza place. The twins are beginning to get sleepy already having spent their energy playing. A little bit of food, a bath, and they'd be down for the count for the night. A little over halfway there, Ashley has picked up Connor and is carrying him while Chris has picked up Camille.
“Hopefully they don't keep us waiting to long for that pizza. I'm not sure the kids are going to stay awake much longer.”

"Yeah hopefully not. Carrying sleeping babies is hard on the back and shoulders."
He said,
"Sucks we didn't bring the stroller with us, if they take too long we'll just go...Adrian and I are cool with eating something else if need be."
Adrian nodded and Chris smiled.
"That's my boy! Adapting to the change."
